I have been working with Ed Watson for about ten years. I was fifty at the time (we started) and had reasonable weight but looked fat. Since running was not helping my physique I investigated weight training. During this period we have been able to develop a strong professional relationship that has helped me improve my strength and appearance as well as avoid injury.
Ed has the ability to demonstrate and describe strength training activities so that it is crystal clear to everyone from beginner to expert. His understanding of the metabolic process has helped me use nutrition to enhance my strength training efforts. He has clearly spent a great deal of effort learning about the human body.
Over the years together we have strengthened muscles I didn’t even know existed. As my ability grew, Ed’s training continued to challenge me. He truly develops a program for each individual. It’s not canned and doesn’t follow the latest fad.
The result is I actually have more muscles now where there used to be bone and fat. I had no shoulders before we started. Now I believe my shoulders are one of my best features. All of this has taken me from worrying about my waist size and weight to concentrating on how my clothes fit, how my body feels, and an increased sense of well being.
Over the last two plus years, I have gotten to know Ed as an individual and not just as my trainer. Ed has an immense understanding and knowledge of what it means to be well. He strikes me as someone who sees fitness as a whole - incorporating nutrition, weight training, and cardiovascular workouts as a lifestyle. He has helped me refine my understanding of the components that result in fitness of the body and mind.
In private practice as a doctor of chiropractic and massage therapist, I have and will continue to refer people to him, as I am confident in his skills and experience. I am pleased with the results I am getting with Ed. He is a great man and I have no hesitations in recommending him to someone who is mentally ready to explore the true meaning of fitness.
I’m seeing results!
Mine is not the extreme story of a massive weight loss or bodybuilding effort. It is a commitment by an average sized guy to simply become leaner and stronger. For me, Ed Watson’s training style is about education.
NUTRITION
To learn how eating with common sense and balance can enhance the process was the essential lesson. Ed presented this during our first session and it became the foundation for the building process.
STRENGTH TRAINING
Each session is filled with perfect form and fundamentals coming from an educator rather than a drill sergeant. Ed’s soft spoken; educated approach ensures results because each exercise has value.
CARDIOVASCULAR
I’ve lost 15 of the 20 pounds I’d like to lose with virtually no cardio work. I can’t wait to see what will happen when I mix in this important third element.
In the past year, I’ve gained strength and body definition I haven’t seen with other training. Thanks Ed!
I have been working with Ed for several years. As a Realtor I have an unpredictable
schedule. Ed has been extremely patient and flexible in scheduling our sessions. In my case I'm
rehabbing from past injuries. Ed has been very mindful of my "special needs". His knowledge of
physiology makes our sessions more valuable and productive than physical therapy. He never
runs out of different ways to work a body part and he know hows and when to push, even if I do protest
a bit. Ed listens to me. He anticipates just the right exercise or stretch to make my day a better
one. Ed knows nutrition and supplements and I trust his advice - he's up to date and cuts through
the marketing hype and buzz. He separates what's effective from what sells! Ed works out of Los
Campeones in the Seward neighborhood. Campeones is the most friendly and non-threatening
gym. I'm not judged by what I wear, how buff I am, or how much I lift. It's a great atmosphere for me
to achieve my goals of flexibility, stamina, muscle building, and overall health. Ed's the
best guide on the road to health and fitness. STOP PUTTING IT OFF AND JUST DO IT!

About 18 months ago I realized I wasn’t booking another session with my old trainer. At the urging of my husband, I had called his trainer of 10 years, Ed Watson.
I am so glad I did.
At 50, I had decided I wanted stronger bones so osteoporosis wouldn’t win the battle as I aged. I had injured my elbow and was concerned about weight training I could do without re-injuring it. Ed worked to design appropriate exercises that only did not aggravate my injury but actually strengthened my elbow.
I was very intimidated around weight rooms and not very familiar with the various machines. Ed is so patient and very good at explaining how to use the weights and machines correctly. He has also taught how to be sure you get your opportunity to work in during prime (busy) workout times. I’ve found him to bean excellent listener and someone who will design the program that fits your needs and time schedule.
I wasn’t really looking for nutritional advice, but have found Ed’s knowledge and advice to be a wonderful plus in helping me on my journey to better health.
I would say the biggest impact Ed Watson had on my health was changing the way I think about food and exercise. When I get lost in my old way of thinking, I remember Ed’s words and it helps me to get back on track and to put into perspective the choices I need to make and how to carry out those choices. I get results immediately.
Rather than choosing foods that are fat-free or low-cal, I choose foods that have a high density of nutrition. In my fat-free eating days I was depressed, hungry, and sick. I ended up with Grave’s disease, a thyroid disorder.
Ed helped me regain my life. I take Ed’s knowledge and apply it to my life everyday in the form of properly exercising, eating right, and taking the right supplements.
Eating helps me feel well, but exercising makes me feel strong and alive. Together, it makes a difference. Everyone should experience (this) if you want to feel alive and well and young again.
Ed is very passionate about all of this and rightly so. He is qualified, knowledgeable, and lives it all.
Better eating, better body, better health, better balance, better life.
These are the things you’ve done for me…(Ed I’ll just talk and you can use what you want)…. When I first came to you I was angry, I was injured, I wasn’t sleeping, I was smoking, I was out of shape and didn’t know where to start. I was running and working out but had no focus.
I had dismissed the idea of a personal trainer as the “chain trainers” I had come into contact with were generally “too pushy” “only looking for people who wanted a body-builder physique” and would tell me I couldn’t eat if I wanted to lose weight.
Then I met you. I wanted to start over…. Ed, you walked me through the basics of how my body works – how each exercise we did focused on a certain muscle group and why it was important to exercise all of the muscle groups. You then talked about how important food is and how my body uses the food I eat to feed my muscles, nervous system, and brain. Each session with you is an education! I learn something EVERY time.
I am so much more “in tune” with my body. You taught me how every person is different and you need to pay attention to what each exercise does for your body and how what you eat can enhance or hinder my effectiveness. You helped me connect the dots and dispel the myths. What I like the best is that if I mess up and have a bad day… I don’t beat myself up about it any more… I just “get back on track” the next day.
I have stopped drinking, lost weight, eat more times a day, exercise more consistently, have more energy, sleep better, look better and have more confidence than ever.
I recently turned 40 and feel the best I have in 10 years.
I didn’t know where to start or what to believe. You made me feel good about being me. You validated me by affirming my belief that “one size does NOT fit all” when it comes to nutrition and fitness.
Thanks Ed. Hope you can use something in this email that you will find valuable… if not, I won’t be offended.
Oh, one more thing…I am gradually taking back control of my life instead of letting it control me. I feel less guilty about saying “no” to the societal norms and expectations…I do what I think is best for me…If I want to throw away half of the bun at lunch, bring my own tuna snack or protein bar to the meeting, or have water at the conference reception, I will… Gasp all you want…. I could give a @$&!. (Ha… that’s what I really would want to say at the end but you never know I would.)
